You want to remember REAL moments on your wedding day, not being directed all day to get the “perfect shot.”
I think the “perfect shot” is the one that captures your true essence; One that encapsulates the array of emotions you feel on the day you get to marry your best friend. To me, the perfect shot is one that can transport you right back to that moment. This is why my approach to wedding photography is mostly documentary. Instead of posing and directing all day, I prefer to follow alongside you and your partner capturing the day as it really is – the way you’ll want to remember it. I will give direction when necessary and make adjustments here and there, but I want you to be as present as possible throughout the day. My primary focus is seeking out real moments that tell a story. I will also cover formals, traditional shots, group shots, requests, and will incorporate artistically posed portraits, playing with perspective, effects, and light to create unique, dynamic images.
Above all, I understand that most people do not particularly enjoy or feel confident having their photo taken (I am one of those people) and clients regularly warn me, “I’m really awkward in photos.” I love to prove that sentiment wrong. I’m very laid back and like to keep shoots light and fun, so if you don’t like being in front of a camera, know that it is my mission to make it as painless as possible, giving you more cues that foster authenticity rather than directing you into stiff or “trendy” poses that just aren’t you. My goal is to make the whole experience feel more like a casual hang out than an intimidating photoshoot. People almost always leave my sessions saying, “that was actually really fun!” Mission accomplished.
